Wow. I absolutely loved painting this. This pic should have taken me about a week or less to paint but stupid school came around.
I love the story of Hansel and Gretel. I'm so jealous. I want an older brother like Hansel. I used as much reference as I could get for the gingerbread house and the cloths for these two little German kids. I was so surprised that none of the other artists drew their expressions when they first see the gingerbread house. I know they should be dirtier, but hey, this is a fairytale! : D Pumped up the saturation and contrast cause it's fun to use such bright colors. :3 BTW, that gingerbread house took awhile. Used PhotoshopCS. Hansel and Gretel by the Grimm brothers. Detail shot here: [link] Wallpaper available. If you want one just say please. :3 |

WOW. I mean, I know I'm supposed to give helpful comments and stuffbut..I just can't think of anything at the moment. I've been shocked into silence. Sort of.
INCREDIBLE.

I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only. I would like to be that unnoticed, and that necessary.
That gingerbread house looks absolutely scrumptious. If it was in my neighborhood, I'd devour it immediately. Except for the licorice. I don't like licorice. D:
The background is gorgeous too~ I love how you added the eyes in the hole of the tree and that sparkly white birdy~ Definitely a fairytale touch. But the best part of the pic is the kids' expressions. xD So adorable.

OHOH! I read the story recently and I found that there actually was a white bird that led them to the house.

I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him.
